Social Experience Challenge? Completed it, mate.

I went to the County Ranger Camp the other weekend but decided to re-publish this post as we had a few classic technical difficulties! We move on and adapt though.

First things first, I had an absolute whale of a time. I love camping and haven’t actually slept under canvas in ages. It felt so nice to be back into it - waking up to the sounds of the birds. Speaking of, we had a fabulous visitor at camp who introduced me to the Merlin Bird ID app and I hate to say it but I’m a little obsessed.

I mucked in with the leadership team and did all manner of tasks. Washing up, learning to light a fire, making mountains of eggy bread, decorating an egg (also called Eggy Bread), identifying birds, cooking, pitching and collapsing tents, first aid, everything. We did manage to fit in some time for us Leaders to have fun though - shout out to the bouncy castle!

I met so many new people from across the County and helped with a new age group I’ve never been with before. The Rangers were fantastic - they invited me to play some games (UNO and Imposter) with them and even made me some daisy chains. Love. We chatted, sang silly campfire songs and I even got to go back to the 90s with one of the leaders!

I had the most fabulous weekend and I can’t wait to join the adventure team all over again.
