Finishing off the Mayday Mile!
Since it is now June, that marks the end of the practical section of my Community Action Challenge. I really challenged myself - pushing myself out of my comfort zone, recording my miles diligently, fundraising, and taking the time to think about the important cause I was fundraising for.
The RNLI have kept me up to date too - in total, over £225,000 was raised by Mayday Mile walkers/runners/swimmers and everything in between this May! I successfully raised over £300 which I am very proud of.
I know from the research phase of the challenge that the RNLI do absolutely vital work, and I am so pleased to have played even a small part in helping with this. I'd absolutely do a challenge like this again too - the walking every day was tough but nothing compared to those heroic volunteers answering those Mayday calls. And, I was blessed with generally decent weather - these men and women go out and save lives in rain, storms, thunder, snow, you name it. I am in awe at their work and will be a long-term supporter of the cause. The Mayday Mile Challenge may have ended but my support has not!
